Frame Jig

Here's the frame jig I built to make the Shaker mirrors.

I was building the mirrors shown on "Project Photos 3", and needed a decent way of clamping them together during glue-up. Sure, I could have gone and bought clamps, but that's no fun. Nope, somewhere in the recesses of my brain, I remembered seeing a design similar to this one. Amazingly simple in concept, and even simpler in parts, I made two of these in about an hour (including the trip to the hardware store). The rods are 1/4-20 (24" long), and the corners, waxed red oak (note grain direction). I've since replaced the wing-nuts with "sliding" nuts from Veritas.
Two frames fit in each clamp and the results were all I could ask.
